Administration

We take care of all the administrative tasks to rent your RV.

Hightened Path RV

There is a lot that goes into renting out your RV. Most people would think this part is "easy". But on the contrary, we make it "look" easy.

Everything we do so you don't have to:
  • Phone calls
  • Email support
  • Customer Service
  • Reservations
  • Process Payments
  • Insurance
  • Collect deposits
  • Scheduling
  • Check in/out
  • Verify identity
  • Marketing
  • And much more

Storage Options

We provide a secure storage for your RV rental.

Hightened Path RV

We provide a secure location where we store and service the RVs. Many times RVs are just sitting and collecting dust. So instead, we have you bring the RV to our secure location and leave the unit with us. If you can't deliver it to us, we can come and pick up the RV for you.

Currently our RV storage location has water, propane, dump station and electricity. We charge $50/month for this service as long as the RV is in the fleet. Unfortunately, we don't have 24/hour access at this time. So, when you need to pick up your RV, we can make sure someone will meet you at the lot to allow access to your RV. Plus, we allow you to leave your personal vehicle parked at the RV storage for the duration of your trip.

Many owners have asked about leaving their RV parked at their storage or home. If you choose to leave the RV at your location, we will not be able to manage the RV for you. But, we do have an option available to manage the RV rental yourself.

Maintenance

We provide full maintenance for your RV rental.

Hightened Path RV

There is never a shortage of things needing to be repaired and fixed on RVs. So, as long as your RV is in our rental program, we take care of the repairs, big or small. We will make sure everything get serviced efficiently and properly. Now, just to be very clear, we don't necessarily do all of the work ourselves, nor do we cover all the costs associated with your RV. We use several third party companies to do majority of the RV repairs and maintenance. Because we like to stay organized, we keep a maintenance log for each RV in the owner's folder.

Who pays for the RV repairs and maintenance?" This answer can get complicated; sometimes the renters, sometimes the owner and sometimes Hightened Path RV.

  1. Should the renter damage somethings, they are liable for the repairs. The renter will get billed for this. If the renter gets into an accident, the insurance company(ies) should step in and handle all of the claims and repairs. If not, Hightened Path RV will step in and do whatever we can to remedy the situation.

  2. OWNER PLAN. You can keep all of the extra miles and generator hours earned from any rental of your RV. Each RV rental gets so many allotted miles and generator hours for free. Anything over the allowance gets charged extra. If you choose this option, all maintenance and every repair, minor or major, is billed to you on a monthly basis. The Owner is required to pay for the seasonal maintenance, annual 36 point inspection, seasonal alignment, tire rotation and any other preventative maintenance.

  3. BASIC PLAN. Hightened Path RV keeps the extra miles and generator hours. If we collect these fees, we cover basic wear and tear of you RV. Since there are many things that need maintenance and repairs, here is a list of repairs we would normally cover as wear and tear. It's not comprehensive, and the list is subject to change*. If there is something you do not read here, feel free to ask.

    • Oil change
    • Generator service
    • Fuel filter
    • 50% of the tires
    • Front end alignment
    • Rock chips
    • Lenses, interior and exterior
    • Seasonal maintenance, such as appliances, staining wood, cleaning roof and awning, lubing doors and slide, etc.
    • Plus others*.

Here is a list of things we do not cover:

    • Batteries (unless we are at fault, but they only last about two years)
    • Level Jacks
    • Slide rooms
    • Appliances, fridge, water heater, microwave, AC, furnace, etc.
    • Mechanical failures of any kind.
    • Water systems, sewer systems, facets, etc.
    • Electrical systems, converter, inverter, power cables, fuse/breaker panels, etc.
    • Roofs
    • Windshields
    • Plus others*.

Of course there are a lot of gray areas, if you have something specific in mind, please reach out and ask.

Just to be clear, the 50% nightly split only covers the management of your RV rental, nothing else.

Insurance

We provide Commercial rental insurance through MBA for your RV.

Hightened Path RV

What about RV rental insurance?
As long as the RV is in our fleet, the RV will be covered through MBA’s Choice Policy or MBA's Trailer Policy. This type of policy is similar to an owner/operator policy. As the owner, you are covered anytime you use your RV. Hightened Path is considered the operator and allows for our company and the employees to be covered as long as the RV is in our possession. The deductibles attached to each policy range from $500 - $2500; trailers and towables are $500-$1000, motorhomes are $1000-$2500. The renter pays this "damage deposit" before renting the RV. Should the owner get into an accident while using our policy, you will be required to pay for the deductible.

Do you still need to keep your personal policy since you and your RV is covered through MBA's policy?
This get's asked a lot and there is no right or wrong answer, it depends on your preference and coverage needs. If you have an outstanding balance on your RV, you may need to have personal insurance in place to provide GAP coverage. This will satisfy your loan requirements and potentially cover the RV in a total loss. In the event of a total loss, MBA will only cover the NADA blue book value of your RV. For example, let's say a renter drives the RV off a cliff (NEVER HAS HAPPENED!). If the RV loan has a balance of $50k but the current value is worth $40k, MBA will only pay up to the $40k. This leaves the owner paying a balance of $10k to the loan. Companies like Good Sam and some credit unions will offer GAP coverage, but the problem arises if they are notified that the RV was used as a rental.
You may also want to keep your personal policy because of the benefits and coverage. Even though MBA provides full coverage, they do not cover things like tire blowouts, windshield replacement, appliance failures causing damage and some others. Whereas your personal policy may cover these items.

What about the renter, are they covered?
The renter has two options for insurance coverage during their rental.
1. They get an insurance rider from their personal auto insurance policy using our binder.
2. If their personal insurance does not cover RV rentals, then the renter will need to purchase RV rental insurance through our MBA policy. This can be done online or when the renter shows up to pickup, Hightened Path will purchase the insurance for them. Either way, we make sure the renter has full coverage for your RV before they depart for their trip.

Who is MBA? Are they the only RV rental insurance provider?
