Already before the pandemic, the trend was clear, people want to have more local and authentic experiences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People are tired of the \u201cmass-produced\u201d offerings and want to see and experience something real, new, and different.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It only makes sense that local experiences are on the rise when you see the rest of the trends in this article. The amount of detergent used daily by hotels is staggering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another thing the hotels are doing is removing single-use plastic containers from the rooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sustainabilitymag.com\/csr\/intercontinental-hotels-group-become-first-hotel-remove-miniature-toiletries\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">InterContinental Hotel Group<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was the first hotel brand in the world to remove all miniature toiletries. With over 800,000 rooms in their portfolio, that amass to a huge amount of single-use containers a year!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Actually, by 2023, all hotels in the State of California will no longer be allowed to provide single-use toiletries in plastic bottles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The demand for products and services which are eco-friendly will continue to grow as people become even more environmentally conscious. A study from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20210322005061\/en\/GreenPrint-Survey-Finds-Consumers-Want-to-Buy-Eco-Friendly-Products-but-Don%E2%80%99t-Know-How-to-Identify-Them\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GreenPrint<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found that 64% of Americans are willing to pay more for sustainable products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/explodingtopics.com\/topic\/sustainable-travel\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Trends<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (the search trends in Google) confirms this development with the search term \u201csustainable travel\u201d growing over 92% over the last 5 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once again we see how the trends converge. For most people \u201canywhere\u201d means from the kitchen table at home, but that seems to be changing rapidly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pandemic forced this trend on humankind. It basically became the catalyst for its popularity. However, work from anywhere, workcation, and bleisure (business + leisure) were concepts that were becoming popular already before the pandemic hit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bleisure is the concept of combining business travels with leisure time before or after a meeting\/business trip. Today, most people who work in an office environment only need a laptop, a phone, and an internet connection to do their work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/covid-workcation-rise-pandemic-e4d50e83-2233-4fd8-90dc-03ee4a00e7ac.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Workcations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are combining vacation and working.
